Tallow is rendered Suet (the fat that surrounds the organs of a cow). Rendering is essentially the process of purifying the fat to create a clean product that can be used for cooking, skincare, candles, soap, etc. I process mine several times to ensure all impurities have been removed.
Face butter is different from my body butter in that along with the tallow, it is made with jojoba oil (rather than almond oil) specifically for its anti–microbial and noncomedogenic (won’t clog pores) properties!
Tea Tree benefits skin with its anti-inflammatory properties by helping reduce irritations (including acne). It’s also purifying and toning, which promotes glowing, healthy skin!
Frankincense is known to strengthen and improve the tone and elasticity of skin. It is also said to help boost defense mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes.
Although this is “face butter” you can use it anywhere on your body! I gravitate toward these for skin upset like rashes that can appear anywhere on the body. Use caution with highly irritated areas where there might be broken or cracked skin.
Tallow is super nutrient dense when it comes to what it offers your skin. Tallow is made up of the same fats/lipids in healthy human skin, which makes it highly compatible in its ability to nourish our skin. It is able to impact dryness at a cellular level rather than just coating the skin. Tallow contains an abundance of vitamins A, D and K as well as antioxidants, such as E (which can help prevent wrinkles).
We believe in “nose to tail”; meaning that we utilize as much of the animal as possible. We aim for very little waste. This is just one more way to accomplish that and it has such great benefits!
This body butter is made by Jessica Parker through her holistic health coaching business: That Vibrant Life. Therefore, that is what you will see on the label rather than the Oregon Valley Farm brand!
